Good morning friends! I hope you are having a great week. We kicked off December with decorating a gingerbread house and an evening walk to look at all the holiday lights. So far, we’ve spotted a baby yoda holding a candy cane, Christmas dragons, and a snoopy-themed house! Before I dive into some planned holiday content, I wanted to recap our September trip to Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. It was the perfect escape from the hot summer temps in Tucson. I loved being amongst the pine trees and lakes. It reminded me of being back in the Pacific Northwest.

Sedona: Social Distancing Edition

Good morning everyone! We just got back from a relaxing weekend in Sedona! After 3 months of just being at home, we needed a change of scenery. I’m grateful for the ability to stay home but it can wear on you after awhile. Arizona is technically re-open but with the recent news of our surge, we wanted to still play it safe. We brought wipes to clean door knobs and surfaces of our AirBnB, packed our own groceries, cooked all of our meals at home, and chose activities where we could maintain an appropriate social distance. I can already tell a difference in my mood and patience even though we’ve returned to the world of staying home, neighborhood walks, and grocery pick ups.

I’ll be honest that babies don’t need many toys the first few months of their life. They get plenty of stimulation just by eye contact and conversation. However there were a few items that managed to keep both of my kids attention so I could have my hands free to cook dinner or catch my breath! Plus it’s so much fun to go shopping for toys and watch them explore something new! As we made our way through the second round with Benjamin, I noticed there were a few go-to toys that both him and Emilia loved the most.
