5 Minute Makeup Routine | Flawless in Five Review + Video

I’m sharing my five minute make up routine with the Flawless in Five by Beautycounter.

The Flawless in Five is a collection of six products designed to give you a polished natural look in five minutes. Separately the value is $190 but with this set, you can get all six for $150. This is a great option if you are looking to replace all of your makeup products at once.

Here are the six products included:

Dew Skin or Skin Twin

Dew Skin is our tinted moisturizer with SPF 20. It’s great if you want a lightweight coverage while protecting your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays. It’s one of the first products I purchased before I became a consultant. I love wearing this for my everyday look while hanging around the house or running errands.

Skin Twin is our featherweight coverage. It provides buildable coverage without feeling heavy. Formulated with hyaluronic acid, it aids in improving skin texture while wearing makeup. I choose this for date nights or when I have the occasional breakout. Still need sun protection? You can layer the foundation over this sunscreen developed specifically for layering under makeup. You can download our app and use the shade finder if you’re having problems deciding which one to get.

Tip: I use my fingers to apply light coverage when using both the Dew Skin and Skin Twin. I’ve heard others like applying the skin twin with a beauty sponge or our retractable foundation brush.

Touch Up Skin Concealer Pen

The concealer pen comes in five different shades that blend beautifully. Once you select your base, Beautycounter’s interactive process will suggest complementary shades for you.

Tip: Blend your concealer with your ring finger. It’s the weakest finger so it won’t tug at the delicate skin around your eye.

Satin Blush

The satin blush is triple-milled to a precise fine consistency. It blends smoothly and evenly. I use the shade ‘nectar’ as it’s a well-known dupe for the Nars blush in Orgasm.

Brow Gel or Brow Pencil

Color Define Brow Pencil comes with a built-in brush wand to blend and groom brows. The pencil glides on easily making hairlike strokes a breeze.

Brilliant Brow Gel is one of the products I haven’t tried yet because my shade has been out of stock. It’s very popular! It comes with a tapered brush to precisely coat your brow hairs.

Volumizing Mascara or Lengthening Mascara

So, if I had to choose a least favorite product, it would be our mascara. I am used to using either L’Oréal Voluminous or Lancôme Monsieur mascara which results in long thick lashes. I do love the brush that comes with the volumizing mascara and the hydrating ingredients. I like to apply this first and then apply one of the two aforementioned mascaras.

While I have not tried the lengthening mascara, it was recently reformulated for zero flaking and easier removal.

If you have any great “cleaner” mascaras, I’m open to recommendations!

Tip: While applying the rest of your makeup, keep your mascara in your waistband. It applies better once warm! Regardless of which mascara you use, apply at the base of the lashes and wiggle upward. Turn the brush vertically to apply to your lower lashes.

Lip Gloss

This lip gloss is not sticky at all. It’s hydrating and offers a sweet vanilla scent. I love to layer it over the Sheer Lipstick.

Tip: Apply a dot of gloss around your cupids bow and then three dots on your lower lip. Press your lips together and move side to side. This prevents the color from bleeding out. You don’t want to over-apply the product!

This Flawless in Five is a great value for if you want to change our your everyday makeup at once. I usually recommend changing your products as you use them up as a more wallet-friendly option. Luckily you can buy these products a la carte. For the month of August, you can use code ‘cleanforall20’ to get 20% off. This does not apply to regimens, sets, and newer items. Code expires August 31, 2020.

Have a great week!
